Mr. Martin began his career as a DJ, during the late 90’s, after attempting to promote several parties in Dallas, TX. Before that, he was simply a fan of all genres of music. While growing up in Milwaukee, WI, Martin and a childhood friend were known for throwing some of the hypest parties for high school students. They used some of the Midwest’s Hottest DJs such as Doctor B, Fresh G, and DJ Tony Neal. From there, He went on to Grambling State University in Louisiana. Although, he focused on, and accomplished, his major goal of obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, he still continued to promote. After graduating college, Martin moved to Dallas, where he still focused on promoting. His promotion group brought popular east coast DJs to the south to provide music for his events. Fascinated by the crowd control of these DJs, DJ Mr. Martin reached out to one of his PHI BETA SIGMA Fraternity Inc Brothers, DJ PHIL for lessons in the craft. The rest is history. DJ Mr. Martin used his knowledge of Funk, R&B, Rock, Hip-Hop, Blues, Reggae, and jazz to hone his skills. DJ Mr. Martin has since moved back to Milwaukee, where he has done production and mixing for two radio stations in the Milwaukee market. (WNOV MAJIC 102.5 and WKKV V100.7 JAMS) His career has allowed him to DJ in many major cities including: Chicago, Dallas, D.C, and St. Louis just to name a few. He has mixed for the Milwaukee All White Affair (over 2,000 attended), NBA All-star Weekend, Milwaukee All Black Affair (4,000 ppl w Doug E. Fresh), Navy Pier Chicago, and African World Festival Milwaukee (Lake Michigan).DJ Mr. Martin is a proud member of his Midwest Promo team, “The Supa Friendz” and was inducted in to the World renowned “THE CORE DJS” in 2009.
